Bell Ringing

The sound of church bells is one of the distinctive features of the English countryside – a tradition that has endured for many centuries. It is marvellous that we can keep this ancient practice alive – a call to prayer and a reminder of the place of God in our communities.

There are several teams of bell ringers across the Akeman Benefice, with teams in Kirtlington, Bletchingdon, Weston on the Green, Middleton Stoney, and Chesterton. Each parish team meets regularly to practise and is always happy to welcome new members.
