Away Day for the whole benefice

How the day went…

Feeding the Faithful, 10th June

All members of our congregations are invited to a special day away together in lovely countryside near Shipston-on-Stour, on Saturday 10th June. We have a large and characterful meeting room, dining room and coffee area booked in The House of Bread, a Christian retreat centre in its own lovely grounds outside Burmington.

The idea is to relax, eat, chat, walk, worship and learn together, being nourished both physically and spiritually. To help the former, a caterer is coming to provide a wonderful lunch for us. To help the latter, Sheila Lloyd is going to lead some sessions on the theme “Taste and See”. Sheila is an experienced leader of quiet days, workshops and retreats, and has been to preach to us several times so may be known to several of us. So for once this will be an event for which no work, cooking, cleaning, organising or any other responsibility is needed. Just come and relax and enjoy the experience !

There will be time to chill out, sit with a cup of coffee or walk by the river or in the prayer garden. The day will end with communion together, led by our Rector, tea and cake.
